Blu-ray – no time soon for Europe

All the Euro sporting fixtures are now over, World Cup (that’s soccer), Tennis at Wimbledon, and well Tour de France is still going – just. so why bother with High Definition anymore? Especially those lovely HD DVD things that everyone keeps talking about (Blu-ray and HD-DVD).

Well Europe – forget it. Maybe late next year sometime – if you’re good.

According to reports Pioneer says it doesn’t have any "concrete" plans for their European launch, but they’d have something figured out by CES 2007 in January.

That means end of 2007 at least – sorry Europe you’re out of luck this time.
